LCAS’ fully certified (Supplemental Type Certificate) non-magnetic aileron balance weights are manufactured from non-magnetic 304 stainless steel to help minimize electromagnetic interference with survey equipment that may be installed on the aircrafts wing tips.

The existing aileron balance weights will be removed from the ailerons and replaced with non-magnetic versions of the same weight, size and dimensions as the originals. There will be no effect on the flight handling characteristics of the aircraft from the installation of these non-magnetic aileron balance weights. Operating limitations and operational procedures will also not be affected by the installation.
