AUXILIARY FUEL
LA-4 & LA-4-200     
This modification is the installation of fuel tanks in your sponsons giving 14 US gallons extra or approximately 1.5 hrs more range. Used sponsons are occasionally available at reduced cost.

AUXILIARY FUEL WET WINGS
Price per individual installation
Modification of the inboard wing section of your LA-4 into fuel tanks the same as the Renegade. Yields 84 gallons total fuel when combined with auxiliary sponsor tanks or 70 gallons without.

AUXILIARY POWER UNIT
RENEGADE 12V & 24V       
An auxiliary plug to boost the aircraft from your car or other 12V source.

BILGE PUMP KIT, ELECTRONIC, AUTOMATIC

FRONT/AFT   
An automatic electric bilge pump installed in the main compartment and/or the aft compartment. The pump is activated automatically should the hull become breached and develop a leak. Connected directly to the battery so operation is independent of the master switch. Especially desirable when aircraft is left moored for extended periods.

BATTERY RELOCATION

 
We relocate the battery on the earlier 200 h.p. aircraft from the baggage area to under the floor, as in the newer Lakes, clearing the baggage compartment area. On the LA-4, the battery is relocated from the nose area to under the floor, making the nose lighter and therefore making it easier to keep the C of G loading back in an acceptable range.

CONTROL LOCK, INTERNAL


We add internal angles and supply pins with flags to lock elevator, rudder and aileron controls.

CABIN HEATER INSTALLATION

 
The new high capacity Janitrol B2030 heater with the new style heater cover and inside plenum. We can also supply and install the new C & D heater which is very similar to the Janitrol.

CABIN HEATER COVER

NEW STREAMLINE STYLE      
Your existing heater cover is replaced with the new compact, aerodynamic cover. The appearance of the aircraft is greatly enhanced and turbulent airflow through the propeller is minimized, increasing both take-off and climb performance.

CABIN HEATER PLENUM

 
Your existing heater cover is replaced with the new compact, aerodynamic cover. The appearance of the aircraft is greatly enhanced and turbulent airflow through the propeller is minimized, increasing both take-off and climb performance.

CORROSION PROTECTION

We apply the corrosion protection fluid ACF-50 sprayed under high pressure to all areas of your aircraft. This material was designed for aluminum and has excellent wicking action which results in penetration between all skin seams and under all flanges. LPS3 is also applied where desirable.

       

CANOPY DOOR MODIFICATION


We modify your existing hatches and center post to provide rounded door corners top and bottom. These rounded corners provide a more effective seal blocking out water and engine / wind noise. New seals are installed and doors adjusted for a snug fit.

CARGO DOOR INSTALLATION


We install the new design door with the same styling as used on the late model EP's and Renegades (rounded corners and inside handle).

WING FILLETS


The Lake wing fillet kit greatly improves lift off and climb performance. A properly installed set of wing fillets will reduce take-off speed by a minimum of 5 mph and increase rate-of-climb by a minimum of 200 ft per minute. The kit also includes our wing root fairings. If the registration markings require alteration.

WING FAIRINGS


We produce a small wing fairing that fits close to the juncture of the fuselage and wing root. This smoothes out the airflow and eliminates turbulence that causes airflow separation at the wing root during high angles of attack thereby improving performance during climb and at rotation speed.

VORTEX GENERATORS


Bonded along the leading edge of both the flaps and wing, these devices help maintain laminar airflow over the airfoils at high angles of attack. Our own testing has demonstrated a minimum 10 knot reduction in stall speed in the landing and take-off configurations for the Renegade and non-batwinged 200’s. Improved performance and greater safety margins are realized during rough water take-offs and landings. Boat wake encounters and bounce recovery will be much more controllable. Climb angles for obstacle clearance are improved as well as the glide ratio. Weight change is minimal. Price includes a typical installation, painting and documentation on all Lake models.

GEAR DOORS - MAIN GEAR

Complete main gear enclosure. Fully tested and now approved for first production installation. Final approval is pending. We expect improved take-off from water with better climb and faster cruise.



THIRD WINDOW MODIFICATION


If you carry anyone in the back seats, it gives them their own windows. It also conveys the appearance of a longer cabin.

RUDDER AND/OR AILERON TRIM


With the electric Aero Trim kit installed, it is no longer necessary to apply constant aileron or rudder pressure to correct an out-of-trim condition.

LAKE AND AIR INC. GEAR ADVISORY SYSTEM


This system continuously monitors the aircraft speed and gear position. As the airspeed drops to a preset level, an aural and visual advisory will alert the pilot to the gear configuration. The reminder continues until the pilot acknowledges by touching a button. Every 3.5 seconds, the pilot will hear “Gear is up for water landing” or “Gear is down for runway landing” until a response is given. Arming is automatic. A very effective system and a great safety enhancement. Fully STC’d for all Lake models.

CLEVELAND DUAL-LINING BRAKE MODIFICATION

These brakes increase the stopping, holding and steering effectiveness through increased brake pad surface area. The aircraft is much easier to control. The Cleveland-style brake has more than double the braking surface of the standard single-puck brake and is more economical to maintain.


COVER SETS


Engine or canopy covers available separately and custom wing & stabilizer cover sets available. The engine cover keeps heat in while preheating and keeps snow out during winter. In the spring, birds are prevented from nesting inside. The canopy cover prevents sunlight from damaging avionics, instruments and upholstery. Made of blue Sunbrella material that is lightweight, compact and easy to carry. Many other colors also available by special order.
